REGENERATIVE THERMAL OXIDIZERS (RTO)

Turner Envirologic's CrossFire RTO destroys volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), and odors with destruction efficiencies up to 99% through the process of high temperature thermal oxidation, and a Thermal Recovery Efficiency (TER) of up to 95%.

Wide Range of Capacities & Applications

From 1,200 scfm to 66,000 scfm, for applications in various industries where VOC concentrations can range between 3% and 25% of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). We customize our RTOs to your specs to save you money and get the performance you need.

Ease of Use & Installation

Our RTOs ship skid mounted, factory assembled, pre-wired, and pre-piped for rapid installation. Operation of the unit is made simple due to easy access to the electrical sub-panel, main burner, pilot burner, and switching valve actuator. All of these components are located underneath the housing of the RTO so there is no need to work from ladders or platforms. Intuitively simple PLC control screens make operation, troubleshooting, and process control settings easy.

High Destruction Efficiency

Destruction efficiencies up to 99% are achievable with the RTO. The key to high efficiency is the very fast actuation of the single-blade switching valve and its close proximity to the heat recovery chambers. The single-blade switching valve design eliminates the potential for timing problems associated with operating two independent poppet valves. This means faster switching and reduced interruption in air flow.

Maximized Heat Recovery

Turner Envirologic uses the temperature differential between inlet and outlet to determine when to switch the position of the switching valve. This is far superior to RTOs that base switching on time. Since we use differential temperature, our RTO always achieves the highest heat recovery possible saving the greatest amount of energy. If the concentration of VOCs in the exhaust gases is high enough, the RTO controls will shut the natural gas off completely and allow the RTO to operate in a self-sustaining, fuel free mode.
