Even the best made dampers do not provide 100% leak proof shut off. For areas where this is critical, or to allow personnel entry into ducts or units while other portions operate, TEI can provide our Seal Air Damper. This proprietary design uses dual blades which close with an air space between them . A small blower (or alternately filtered compressed air) is introduced between the blades to provide a slight positive pressure, so that this air leaks out of both sides of the damper, thus preventing gases from the exhaust (or contaminated air) side from entering into the other side. These dampers are custom built to suit our customer’s particular needs, and can be supplied with monitor and interlocks as needed for the application.
